The lovely guys at the SE1 Studios are holding an open studios this weekend. They asked us to design a poster promoting the event. They have also promised there will be loads of little art goodies under £50 for sale. "Perfect stocking fillers" is what they are saying. Come down this weekend we might see you there.

We have been working with Antiframe, an independent curatorial practice in Lisbon. Developing their identity and website. They recently organised a series of debates for Art Lisbon and they asked us to produce a poster for the event. The lecture series focuses on the future of contemporary arts in Portugal. We used a well known map, pre-earthquake 1755, representing an old traditional Lisbon and the series of debates asking where the future lies.

Now the dust has settled on our Celebration of September exhibition we wanted to say thanks to a few people who definitely helped with promotion. The event was covered by a number of design blogs most notably Grafik, Design Week, FormFiftyFive, Made by Six, TheWhatWhereWhen and a host of others. Thanks again, the turnout for the show was fantastic. And thanks to everyone who made it down to the exhibition!

We actually moved in to our little Bermondsey studio a little while ago. But with all the frantic desk re-arranging, shelf building and walls painting, well that didn't leave too much time for us to get our there and meet our neighbours. Last weekend there was a street festival on Bermondsey Street, our favourite place to grab lunch. Mortar&Pestle have been working on an infographic project for Experteer, a multi-national executive recruitment agency. The graphics showed how top-level executives spend their summer holidays, what they like to do and where. Have a look at the work we produced.

Just designed the book É Como Diz O Outro for Fernando Alvim, a comedy writer in Portugal. He regularly appears on TV and has his own radio program. He was producing a play and this book features some of the scripts from the show. We commisioned a great friend and amazing illustrator Mat Williams to illustrate the cover. Thanks Mat!

Our good friend and superstar illustrator Andre Beato designed a poster for Mortar&Pestle. His work is amazing I urge you all to have a butchers here.

Super nice guy and gentleman Harry Watts came down to our studio to take some very nice snaps of us. The very talented man has been working as an assistant for Martin Parr at his London studio amongst all whole range of interesting commissions and personal work. An absolute professional and a stand-up guy, I would urge you all to view his portfolio.

Our longstanding client Andy Dermanis commissioned us to design a DVD slipcase. Building on the ideas we have developed for his identity, we designed these illustrative cases that have been silver foil blocked.

Mortar&Pestle have also appeared in the third book in the Victionary series, I Love Bodoni. The exhibition posters and flyers for Shameless, The Art of Self Promotion were screenprinted at Print Club. Really liking the design and choice of colours on the books. Good job guys!
